Donor Conception Consulting
Donor conception can bring up complicated questions about identity, disclosure, family, genetics, and belonging. Whether you are considering donor conception, parenting a donor-conceived child, navigating new information, or supporting a family through change, you do not have to figure it all out alone. I am a donor-conceived person raised by a single mother by choice, a licensed therapist specializing in identity and relationships, and the Vice President of Mental Health Initiatives for the U.S. Donor Conceived Council (USDCC). My consultations combine lived experience, clinical training, and advocacy work within the donor conception community.
Consulting may be helpful if you are:
Considering having a donor-conceived child, including as a single parent by choice
Thinking through donor selection or different paths to donor conception
Preparing to talk with your child about their conception story
Navigating late disclosure or an unexpected discovery
Supporting a donor-conceived person as they explore their identity
Working through relationships among parents, donors, siblings, and extended family
Looking for guidance around language, boundaries, or age-appropriate conversations
Seeking a donor-conceived and mental health perspective for professional or advocacy work
There is no single “right” way to navigate donor conception. Consultation offers a supportive place to ask honest questions, consider the needs and perspectives of everyone involved, and make thoughtful decisions that fit your family.
